The Gold Severum (Heros efasciatus or Heros severus) is a large, peaceful South American cichlid known as a "gentle giant". They are highly popular among intermediate aquarists for their round, laterally compressed bodies and intelligent behavior.

Tank Requirements

- Filtration: Because they are large, messy eaters, highly efficient filtration is required to maintain water quality
